For example I have used old floorboards ripped up from the studio floor to create this original painting where I added details to depict this tranquil scene of the Norfolk Broads. I have used the woodgrain to emulate the patterns of the rippled water as well as the clouds in the sky above. The wood itself also has reverence to the wooden windmill sails and the Wherry boats it depicts.
