The Artwork’s Story - I painted the original painting outside and my hands were freezing, and so they wobble and tremble which helps with the wonky branch details. Working outside as an artist when its not summer can be unbearably cold because you are stood completely still for long periods of time.

The Artwork’s Story - Warm rich coloured leaves engulf this woodland, but it's beautifully balanced with the darker cooler blues in the shadows. The trees in this woodland were so tall that they literally seemed to curve inward and bend with the perspective.
