‘Find the beauty within the chaos’
What keeps us persevering throughout our everyday life during the chaotic and bleak periods?
The hope that we will be saved from the storm.
Enter - the life ring.
This artwork was created when I found an old abandoned life ring washed up on the Norfolk coast after the destruction of the 2013 storm that caused a huge tidal surge. The community picked themselves up and rebuilt themselves in the face of adversity. Therefore I wanted to create a piece of art to celebrate this victory and perseverance.
The artwork features the great wave by Hokusai but repositioned on the Norfolk coast! This life ring symbolises the never-ending cycle of human-nature’s strength and resilience against the perils of mother-nature.
