‘If only I had all of the time in the world. - Would I really be any better off?’
This painting takes us on a journey to explore the idea of a parallel universe where we live a life that is completely free from the restraints of time. Just imagine how differently we would live our lives if we weren’t ruled or governed by the ticking clock? Perhaps we would end up doing the things we most wanted to do at the moment that felt right to do so, rather than at a time we should do something. Perhaps we would create amazing work as we wouldn’t have to rush to meet a deadline
. Or perhaps the opposite is true, perhaps we would become lazy and lower our standards knowing our time was infinite. Time for me is a reminder that our lives are finite, and we only get one life - and so we should remind ourselves to spend our time wisely. Whatever your view is on time, I think it’s very valuable to give it some thought and consider trying to live outside the restrictions of it for a period, after all - time is a man-made construct.
