Capturing a vibrant field of colour that surrounds the iconic Happisburgh Lighthouse on the North Norfolk Coast. The foreground of the field is depicted in a semi abstract fashion to mimic the artists palette of all of the varying pigments that make up this unusual painting. However as we venture into the depth of the landscape, the painting becomes more realistic in interpretation. This painting explores and highlights the fact that the area surrounding Happisburgh lighthouse is in a state of ongoing coastal erosion and the cliff edge is continually ‘falling away’ - that movement and deconstruction is captured here in this painting.
A playful and evocative piece.
